Using Blogs to Draw Traffic - By now, nearly everyone has heard of a blog. The question is how does a blog help you build traffic to your website.

Blogs are basically websites that are designed to archive information, allowing you to journal your thoughts or information easily and promote your business through ideas.

A blog can be free and there are numerous blogging companies out there to choose from. The blogging software that isn't free and has a minimal cost, often offers a lot of extra value through their 'widgets' or programming services that allow you to track other sites who use your information, give you RSS feeds and more.

By creating a blog, you can post articles daily about that which you know the most, your business, and in doing so, you are advertising your product or service. The information doesn't have to be complicated, just fascinating enough to capture your reader's attention and make them want more. At this point they can refer to your website, which you have so aptly provided a link to. Blogs also offer credibility. Do you know what your are talking about? Do you understand the business you are in? Write articles that prove that you do.

When using blogs, there are numerous directories you can promote your blog through, once you have it up and running. Such directories include: blogcatalog.com, bloggernity.com, biggerblog.com and blogdirs.com.
